Support our project

In Tanzania, albinism means shame, fear and a life of limited possibility which may be cut short at any moment. Help us to bring Tanzanians the Positive Exposure vision of the beauty of difference. Donate now.

About the Project

For over ten years, Positive Exposure has traveled the globe, celebrating beauty by creating portraits of genetic difference.

When the Tanzania attacks were reported, we utilized our extensive databases' positive images of albinism to create a visual teaching resource appropriate for their multilingual culture. With the support of Under the Same Sun, Positive Exposure has already visited Tanzania twice to meet with government officials, educate communities, and record stories of persecution but also dignity and hope.

Our method

PE specializes in building bridges with communities and cultures, adults and children, medical professionals and affected individuals. We have developed strong partnerships with albinism support groups in Kenya, Mali, Cameroon, South Africa, and Senegal. Each portrait reflects one person's realization of his or her unique beauty--the photograph is added to the traveling exhibition to enlighten the next group. Learn more about us.
